The short version

• We only keep what you type into a form on this site.
• We do not sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone for advertising.
• There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics on this site.
• You can ask us what we hold about you, or to delete it, and we will.

What we collect, and why

If you send a message

Your name, the phone number or email you gave, your message and any star rating. It is used to read and answer you, and nothing else. It is never published on the website unless you ticked the box saying we may share it, and then only your first name.

If you ask for a booking

Your name, how to reach you, what you asked for and when, and anything you put in the notes. It is used to arrange the work.

If you make an account

Your email address and your password. The password is stored scrambled with bcrypt, which means nobody here can read it — not us, not anyone who ever got hold of the database.

How we count visitors

We count how many people looked at each page and what they tapped. Visitors are counted using a code that is regenerated every night, so the same person on two different days counts as two people. That is enough to know how busy a day was and useless for following anybody around. There is no cookie for it, no Google Analytics and no advertising pixel — which is also why this site has no cookie banner.

Your IP address

Forms are protected from spam by counting submissions per sender. To do that we store a one-way scrambled version of the address, never the address itself. It cannot be turned back into a location.

Who else can see it

The people who run Ponderosa Yard & Fire, and the company that hosts the website so it can be online at all. Nobody else. If we are ever legally required to hand something over we will, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.

How long we keep it

Messages and requests are kept while they are useful for running the business, and are deleted on request. Spam that the filter catches is deleted automatically.
